How long is a session of therapy?

Sessions of therapy are a standard 50 minutes.

Do I need a referral from a GP or specialist to see Owen?

No, a medical referral is not required to access an appointment. However, you may be eligible for a GP Mental Health Care Plan which allows for Medicare rebates of $96.65 per session for up to 10 sessions. Please consult your GP to ascertain eligibility.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

Please contact Owen on 0413 527 581 or email owen@oweatherleypsych.com.au if you need to cancel an appointment. A cancellation fee of $100 will be charged if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice. The full consultation fee will be charged if you cancel on the day of your appointment, or do not attend.

How is confidentiality maintained?

Owen maintains the highest ethical and professional standards in his practice. Prior to an initial consultation, clients are provided with digital forms outlining all relevant privacy information including consent forms. Patient health records and session notes are stored on secure practice management software using encrypted password protection.
